SIDNEY – Bart J. Liberatore, 82, of 9 Concord Street, Sidney, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 4, 2006 in New Hampshire.
He was born April 11, 1924 in Norwich, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Grace Tesoriere Liberatore. On July 28, 1951, he married Nancy Panaro in Norwich. Bart was a founding member of Sidney Appliance and Modern Kitchens of Sidney, retiring in 1986. He served his country with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Bart was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, Sidney; Sidney Golf and Country Club; Charles L. Jacobi Post # 183 American Legion, Sidney; and the Unadilla Rod and Gun Club, Unadilla. He was a charter member of the Sidney Lodge #2175 B.P.O.E. and a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Sidney.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Nancy Liberatore of Sidney; three sons, Bart J. and Dayle Liberatore Jr. of Sidney, Joseph and Nancy Liberatore of Liverpool and Daniel Liberatore and his partner, David Perry of Stoddard, N.H.; a sister, Maryrose Biviano of Norwich; a brother, John Liberatore of Norwich; three gradchildren, Kristen Hosner of Baldwinsville, Catherine Liberatore of Sidney and Ryan Liberatore of Sidney; one great-grandson, Braeden Hosner of Baldwinsville; two sisters-in-law, Frances Liberatore of Norwich and Nanette Liberatore of Calif. along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bart was predeceased by his two brothers, Joachim and Anthony Liberatore.
Friends are invited to call from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday from the Sacred Heart Church, Liberty Street, Sidney, with his family in attendance. A Mass of Chrtisian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, at his church with the Rev. Fr. Gordon Polenz, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney.
