Michael Logerfo


OXFORD – Michael R. LoGerfo, 76, of Oxford, died suddenly Dec. 15, 2008, at his winter home in Florida. Mr. LoGerfo was born in Queens, has been a resident of Oxford since 1975, and a winter Florida visitor for nine years.
He was a chief engineer in broadcasting, retiring from Columbia Pictures. Mr. LoGerfo served overseas with the United States Air Force and was a member of the Veterans Club of Spanish Lakes Country Club. He attended the Calvary Baptist Church, Norwich, Parkview Baptist Church, Fort Pierce, Fla., and was a deacon and founding member of Faith Bible Church, Oxford. Industrious and inquisitive, his hobbies included gardening, music and painting, inventing and learning. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Irene Shea LoGerfo of Norwich; four sons, David LoGerfo of Norwich, Richard LoGerfo of Newark Valley, Mark LoGerfo of Staten Island and Stephen LoGerfo of Norwich; two daughters, Karen DelSignore of Wanaque, New Jersey and Michelle Cryan of Homer; nine grandchildren, Victor Rutherford, Arianne LoGerfo, Devon Ellsworth, Jared LoGerfo, Michael DelSignore, Joanna LoGerfo, Kara DelSignore, Miles Cryan, Gabrielle LoGerfo; and two sisters, Chatherine LoGerfo of Norwich and Mary Hudor of Pinellas Park, Fla.
A devout Christian, Michael carried Bible verses in his wallet, including the following:
Isaiah 41.10
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I AM your GOD. I will Strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my Victorious Right Hand.”
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10 at Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Calvary Dr., Norwich.
