GEORGETOWN – Hazel M. Dale, 92, of South Main St., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
She was born Nov. 6, 1916 in Georgetown Station, a daughter of Lynn and Florence Royce Trass, and was a graduate of Georgetown High School. On May 6, 1936, Hazel was married to Creighton R. Dale in Georgetown. He predeceased her on Feb. 20, 2004. Hazel was a telephone operator for the Chenango and Unadilla Telephone Co. for many years. She was a member of the West Smyrna Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son and two daughters-in-law, Jerry and Nellie Dale of Georgetown; and Gail Dale of Wake Forest NC; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Richard “Dick” and Patricia “Pat” Dale, and Anne Dale, all of Sherburne; her grandchildren, Sandy and Ken Mott of Georgetown; Wayne and Shanna Dale of Surprise, Ariz.; Becky Dale of Wake Forest, NC; Jeff and Tina Dale of Leominster, Mass.; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Darryl Dale in 2005, and an infant daughter, Vicky Dale.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the West Smyrna Baptist Church, Route 80, Smyrna.
Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Georgetown will be in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the West Smyrna Baptist Church on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
