NORWICH – Susan L. ‘Sue’ Miers, 65, of Old Stone Road, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1943 in Montrose, Pa., Sue was the daughter of Ralph and Lila (Burdick) Lathrop.  She was educated in Elk Lake, Pa. and earned  her bachelors degree from Bloomsburg State University.  Sue taught first and second grades at Gibson School in Norwich from 1965 until her retirement in 1998.
She was a member of the National Educators Association and the Norwich Educators Association as well as the NYS and Chenango County Retired Teachers Associations.  She was also a member of the Norwich Women’s Bowling League.  She attended Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Carrie Sue Miers LaCoe of Vestal and a brother, Edward Lathrop and his wife, Mary, of Springville, Pa. and nieces and nephews, Nancy Dooling, Craig Lathrop, Judith Samsel and Mindy Holbrook.  She was predeceased by her parents and her son, Matthew Miers.
Graveside services for Sue will be held at a later date.  There will be no calling hours.
