Bernard Moon


 CLARK MILLS – Bernard C. Moon, of Clark Mills, passed away peacefully at his home on St. Simons Island, Ga. on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008.
Born in Poolville, the son of A.H. Harry and Winifred LeMay Moon, he lived most of his life in Lebanon, moving to Rose in 2001. He began wintering in southern Georgia following his retirement from Oneida Ltd. in 2001.
Bernard was a logger for many years with major timber companies such Koppers & Behr Lumber. He continued working with lumber, having a portable saw mill, preparing specialty wood for antique restoration. His hobbies included gardening and travel. He also enjoyed photography and created wonderful photos. He was a 14-plus year member of a 12 step group founded by Bill W., and attended meetings and functions throughout his travels.
He is survived  by his beloved companion, Barbara Knapp of Clark Mills; four sons, Kevin Moon of North Pitcher; Tim Moon of Lebanon; Roy Moon of Polkville; and Tom Moon of Earlville; a daughter, Heather Knapp of Port Ewen; two sisters, Patricia Burnezky of Hubbardsville and Wanda Morgan of Lebanon; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Connie Ann.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Burial in the Peterboro Cemetery will be private.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
