GREENE – Jeannette Farias, 90, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph P. Farias; daughter, Sandra Hayes; and by a brother and sister.
Jeannette is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy P. and Wes Ganoe, Jacksonville, Fla.; grandchildren, Gary and Mary Parker, Greene, Tammy and Travis Whitehill, Dallas, Ga., Wendy and Edward Thomas, Oxford, Brian and Christopher Hayes, and their families; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alexandra, Elizabeth, Emily, Joseph, and Nathan; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Helen Boudreau and Leo and Marie Boudreau; also nieces, nephews and friends.
Jeannette owned and operated a bridal salon on Long Island until her retirement in 1986, when she moved upstate to be with her family. In her retirement, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, activities in church, and especially spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at noon Thursday at the First Congregational Church, 28 North Chenango St., Greene. Rev. Curtis Whitman will officiate. Friends of the family may call Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at First Congregational Church, Greene.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greene Emergency Squad, 6 North Canal St., Greene, N.Y. 13778 or to First Congregational Church, 28 North Chenango St., Greene, N.Y. 13778.
