F. Marcella Tackabury


 POOLVILLE – F. Marcella Tackabury, 86, of Willey Rd., passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
She was born Aug. 26, 1922 in Waterville, a daughter of the late Jay and Florence Melvin Burton and was a graduate of Waterville High School. On Oct. 23, 1940, Marcella was married to Robert H. Tackabury in Waterville and they made their home in Earlville. Robert predeceased her on June 17, 1989. A short time later, Marcella moved to Poolville. She was a homemaker who was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Tackabury was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Earlville, where she was an honorary trustee. She had also attended the Poolville United Methodist Church. She was an active member of her community who was an American Red Cross Bloodmobile volunteer, a member of the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Madinango Rebekah Lodge #563 of Earlville, the Senior Bowling League in Earlville, and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert B. and Maureen Tackabury of Poolville; Gary J. and Ginger Tackabury of Norwich; her daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Robert Ballard of Hamilton; Debra and Mark Boise of Earlville; eleven grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A grandson, Kyle Samuel Tackabury predeceased her in 1985.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, followed by interment in the Poolville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, her family has requested contributions in her memory be made to the Poolville United Methodist Church, PO Box 67, Earlville, NY 13332.
