NORWICH – William E. “Billy” Lee, 61, of Norwich, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 13,2008 at his home.
Billy was born in Norwich the son of William M. and Rosemary Ann Sheam Lee in May of 1947. He grew up in Norwich where he attended the Norwich schools. In 1968, Billy entered the United States Army serving his country in Vietnam until his honorable discharge in 1970. Throughout most of his life he had worked in the Telecommunications industry and had previously worked for Pro-Tel in Norwich. Over the years he had made his home in Sylvan Beach, in Fls. for 10 years and Memphis, Tenn. Returning to Norwich about 15 years ago, he has made his home on Tanner Hill. While living in Norwich he became a life member ofVFW Post 2782.
Billy is survived by his son Zachary Robert Lee, his sisters, Margot (Robert) Creagh of Memphis, Tenn., Linda (Jim) Smith of Norwich, Mary (Richard) Jenkins of South Plymouth and his brother Patrick (Donna) Lee of Norwich. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services for Billy will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Douglas Cunningham will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
