Margery Weston


RICHFIELD SPRINGS – Margery L. Weston, 92, formerly of Dove Street, Albany passed away Saturday afternoon Nov. 8, 2008 in Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, Ilion.
She was born on April 5, 1916 in her family home in New Berlin, daughter of the late Richard Owen and Edith Gates Weston.  Margery was raised in New Berlin where she graduated from New Berlin High School.  She furthered her education, graduating from Albany Business College.  From college she went to work for the New York State Department of Labor in Albany.  She remained there for forty-five years retiring in 1978 as Supervisor of the Steno Pool.  She had also worked part time for the National Republican Committee.  In 2005 she came to this area to be closer her beloved niece Connie and her many lifelong friends who live in and around New Berlin. 
Miss Weston had a strong belief in God and led a devoted Episcopal life.  She was a devout member of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Albany and volunteered next door at the “Church Mouse,” a church sponsored goodwill store.  She was also a member of Albany Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. 
In her leisure time she found great joy and relaxation in photography.  To all who knew Margery they will remember a loving, caring and benevolent person whose generosity went far beyond anyone’s expectation.  She was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her niece, Constance and her husband Randy Christian of Richfield Springs, two nephews and their wives, Robert and Sandy Weston of Fulton, Owen and Jeannie Weston of Wasilla, Alaska, a cousin Jim Noyes of Schenectady, several great nieces and great nephews.  Besides her parents she was preceded death by her brother, Robert Gates Weston and his wife Hazel Weston.
Burial Office from the Book of Common Prayer with Holy Eucharist will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Saint John’s Episcopal Church Richfield Springs with the Reverend John Dixon Bartle, Rector officiating.  Interment will follow in Unadilla Forks Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, Albany.  Envelopes will be available at the church service.
Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
