NORWICH – Eloise A. Hetherington, 78, of Norwich, passed away late Saturday night, Oct. 25, 2008, in Lourdes Hospital of Binghamton.
Born in Geneva in October of 1929, Eloise was the daughter of Clyde and Frances (Loomis) Hetherington. Following her graduation from Norwich High School in 1947, she worked for the F.W. Woolworth Company for 12 years, the M.H. Fishman Company and the Norwich Pharmacal Company. Her last employment was as supervisor of the accounting department of the Chenango County Department of Social Services, from which she retired in 1988.
Eloise is survived by her sister, Gloria DeWalt of Cincinnati, and by two nieces Judy Rahe and Karen Turner. She was predeceased by her sister and brother, Rita Wymer and Robert Hetherington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 on Friday from St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Lester Smith, pastor of St. Malachy’s Catholic Church of Sherburne will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. There will be a recitation of the rosary at 1 p.m. on Friday at St. Bartholomew’s Church, prior to the Mass. There will be no calling hours.
