OXFORD – Raymond W. Jones, 66, of the Town of Oxford, passed away early Friday morning, Aug. 18, 2006, at his home.
The son of Raymond W. and Marion (Carpenter) Jones, Ray was born on May 30, 1940, in Brooklyn, where he grew up and attended school. He was employed as a truck driver by Yellow Freight Trucking of Maybrook. Following his retirement. Ray and his family moved to the Oxford area. Ray was an avid hunter who also enjoyed camping and boating.
Ray is survived by his wife, Joan Edwards Jones of Oxford; his son and daughter, Raymond Jones Jr. ofPinebush, and Cheryl Ann Jones of Oxford; his sister, Marion Borack of Florida; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Randall Jones.
Funeral services for Ray will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis McKenna, pastor of the Assembly of God, will officiate. Interment will be at the family’s convenience. Friends are invited to call at the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 until 7:30 p.m.
