Margaret Cook


OXFORD – Margaret Loughren Cook, 95, of Oxford, passed away on Oct. 13, 2008 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, RHCF, Norwich. 
She was born on Oct. 15, 1912 in Chenango Forks, the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Copeland) Loughren. She was married to Chester E. Cook, who passed away on Jan. 3, 1978. 
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Jane Ross of Bradenton, Fla. and Ruth and Russell Stafford of Oxford; her grandchildren, David Ross, Kenneth and Billie Jo Ross, James & Ellen Ross, and John and Joanne Stafford; her great grandchildren, Jessica Godwin, Ashley Masengill, Justin Ross, Adam Ross, Jessica Mills, Allen Ross, Gerrid Ross, Dustin Ross, Madison Stafford and Aidan Stafford; and her great great grandchildren, Sean Godwin, Summer Godwin, Rachael Howe and Joshua Mills. Her sister-in-law, Catherine Carman and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her brothers, Douglas Loughren and Francis Loughren and her son-in-law, Gerald Ross.
 Margaret was a member of the Oxford Home Bureau. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She loved playing bingo with her many friends and enjoyed driving to many different places to play. She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Norman Holtz, pastor of Faith Bible Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford today from 7 to 9 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Fire Department Emergency Squad.
