SOUTH NEW BERLIN – James Robert White, 70, of Co. Rd. 29, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
He was born Dec. 7, 1937 in Astoria, Long Island, a son of James P. and Deloras (Guile) White and was a graduate of Geneva High School. Bob was a welder with Local #73 in Oswego. Following his retirement, he enjoyed the life of a gentleman farmer. He was an associate member of the American Legion in Norwich.
Surviving are his loving companion, Joyce Demmon; his children, Penny Hale of Verona; Mark R. White of Sherrill; Lisa and Cale Decker of Vernon, and Lacy White of Norwich; his grandchildren, Joshua and Katie Kinney, Justin Hale, Amber White, Haley Decker and Caleb Decker; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Kinney; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Tom DeFazio of Palm City, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Timothy R. and Linda White of Spoonersville, Montana; a special sister-in-law, Colleen White of Bloomfield; his faithful friend, Eddie Clark of Sherburne; and his best friend “Little Boy.” Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by a son Michael White in 1977, and a nephew, Randy S. White in 2008.
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
