Cindy Timperlake


NORTH NORWICH – Cindy S. Timperlake, 46, of North Norwich, passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 12, 2008 in the Crouse Hospital of Syracuse, after a battle with cancer.
Born in Norwich in June of 1962, Cindy was the daughter of Raymond and Sylvia (Gridley) Figary. Growing up in Norwich, she attended Perry Browne and Norwich High School, where she enjoyed playing flute in the band and from which she graduated in 1980. Cindy attended SUNY Cobleskill for a time, and worked as a dispatcher at the Sherburne office of Frontier Communications for over 20 years. She was a lady who loved to garden, had a great affection for cats, loved to watch NASCAR racing and the NFL on TV, and enjoyed playing with her nieces and nephews. On Aug. 2, 1997, in Norwich, Cindy married Mark Timperlake.
Cindy is survived by her husband. Mark, of North Norwich; by her parents, Ray and Sylvia Figary; by siblings and their spouses: Debbie and Jim Davis of Sherburne, Diane and Jeff Johnson of Raleigh, N.C., Raymond and Debbie Figary, Jr., of Lebanon, Ohio, Michael Figary of Olathe, Kansas, Douglas Figary of Endicott, and Randy and Cheryl Figary of Merrimack, N.H. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cheryl Atwell and husband Tom of Apalachin; brothers-in-law, Tim Timperlake and wife Diane of Castle Creek, and Eddy Timperlake and wife Debbie of Schenectady; and by many nieces and nephews. Cindy was predeceased by her cat, Alley.
Funeral services for Cindy will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Ted Lawrence, pastor of the West Smyrna Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the North Norwich Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.
