Annie Pickett


EARLVILLE – Annie Mae Oliver Pickett, 77, of Flushing, formerly of Earlville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008 at Flushing Hospital.
She was born Nov. 6, 1930 in Mount Herbon, Ala., a daughter of Thomas and Stella Jolly Oliver and was a graduate of local schools there. On July 7, 1951, she was married to the Rev. Anderson Pickett, Jr. in Alabama. They lived in Queens and Otisville for several years before moving to Earlville. Rev. Pickett predeceased her on July 19, 1997.  Mrs. Pickett was a member of the Earlville Baptist Church. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Annie Mae’s life was devoted to her family who deeply mourn her loss.
Surviving are seven children, Carl A. Pickett of West Eaton; Cecil A. Pickett of Arizona; Frederick C. Pickett of Earlville; Prince F. Pickett of Texas; Michael H. Pickett of New Jersey; David J. Pickett of Norwich and Antoinette E. Pickett of Otisville, NY; three sisters, Johnie Mae Harrill of New York City; Callie Cheatheum of Burlingham, Ala.; and Patricia Bullock of Detroit, Mich.; a brother, Ted Oliver of Detroit, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Monte A. Pickett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Earlville Baptist Church, West Main St., Earlville, followed by interment in the Earlville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville on Friday from 7-9 p.m.
