NORWICH – Marie A. Jenkins, 77, formerly of Otego, passed away Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008, in Riceville, Tenn., where she had made her home in recent years.
Born in Walton in March of 1931, Marie was the daughter of Walter Clever and Mary (Maynard) Gray. Over her years, she loved to bake, crochet, play cards, and listen to country music.
Marie is survived by her sons: John Olds and fiancee Jamie of Riceville, Tenn., Harry Jenkins III of Chiefland, Fla., and John Paul Donnelly of Norwich; by her daughters: Sandy Hill of Sherburne, June Hatton of Norwich, and Joanie Ray of New Berlin; by her sister, Marilyn Condon of Unadilla; and by her brothers: Fred Gray and wife Chris of New Berlin and Maynard Gray and wife Virginia of Springfield, Ohio. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her husband, Harry Jenkins Jr., her former husband, John Olds; her daughter, Jackie Jenkins; her sister and brothers: Rosemary Button, Leland Gray, and Skip Gray; and her brother-in-law, Richard Condon.
Memorial services for Marie will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Columbus Community Church, with its pastor, the Rev. Stephen Reese, officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
