Tina Powell


SMYRNA – Tina Marie Powell, 49, of West Main St., became absent from the body and present with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 at home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1959 in Norwich, a daughter of Warren G. and Doris I. (Foster) Hodge and was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School. On Oct. 8, 1977, Tina married Terrance Lee Powell in Smyrna. Tina had worked at Champion Products in Norwich, and then for Scott and Judy Clippinger in Smyrna for over 10 years. She loved to read, do word puzzles and was a wonderful cook.
Surviving are her husband, Terry; her mother, Doris I. Hodge of Smyrna; her in-laws, Earl and Beverly Powell of Sherburne; a sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Gregg Ferris of Sherburne; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Louie and Nancy Hodge of Georgetown; Robert and Sheila Hodge of Earlville; Alex Hodge and Robin Wilson of Earlville; brother-in-law and his wife, Chad and Karen Powell of Huntersville, N.C.; a niece and her husband, Erica and Kevin Austin of Earlville; four nephews, Brian Ferris and Shana McCready of Sherburne; Justin Hodge of Earlville; Michael Wilson of Earlville; and Jeff Meigs of Georgetown; a great-niece, Willow Austin of Earlville; three great-nephews, Sean Meigs of Georgetown; Brent and Ryan Powell of Huntersville, N.C.; and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father in 2006, and a niece, Robin Meigs in 2008.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Willcox Cemetery, Town of Smyrna.
There will be no calling hours.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Smyrna Emergency Squad.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
