NORWICH – Joyce L. Ward, 80, of Maybury Road, McGraw, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 14, 2008 in Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Ward was born in Norwich, the daughter of Melville and Blanch Burlingame.
She had lived on Maybury Road for the past 30 years, working at Eckerd (Carl’s) Drug Store in Cortland. Prior to that, she had worked in the cosmetics department at Flah’s Department Store in Syracuse.
Joyce loved antiquing and one of her favorite stops was at the weekend show in Bouckville.
Surviving are two brothers, LeRoy Burlingame of Norwich and Wayne Burlingame of Pamplin, Va. There are several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Ward, who died in 1996.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Barth Funeral Home, McGraw, with the Rev. Rolland Ryan officiating. Interment will be in the McGraw Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 42 East Main St., McGraw.
