Stanley Tallett


NORWICH – Stanley Ardean Tallett, 74, of Fayetteville, died at home on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008.
Born in Norwich, he graduated from Otselic Valley High School and DeVry University, Chicago and attended Syracuse University. He worked at General Electric for 10 years and then as the manager of Syracuse University Steam Station where he retired in 1999 after 30 years. He was a member of West Smyrna Baptist Church. His passions were his family and friends, playing basketball, and dancing Western and Ballroom. He served two years in the Army. He was predeceased by his mother, Myra Tallett in 2001; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Tallett and Phyllis David both in 2001.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Janice E. Tarbell Tallett; two daughters, Dianna Tarbell (Paul Francis) of Hogansburg and Leanna Tallett of Massena; a step-son, Charles Brown; his father, Lewis W. Tallett of Greene; a sister, Carol Byrne (Kevin) of LaVergne, Tenn.; two brothers, Wesley Tallett (Constance) of Greene and Dudley Tallett of Cortland; two grandchildren, Brooke and Jessica Francis; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved in-laws, Hubert and Felicia Jock, Margaret Jacobs, Rosemary Bonaparte, Philip Tarbell, Vaughn and Dianne Aldrich, and Irving and Rebecca Papineau.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home, 7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Fayetteville.
