Thomas Elliott


NEW BERLIN – Thomas George Elliott, 77, a lifetime resident of New Berlin and concert pianist, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at The Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vermont.
Tom was born on July 15, 1930 in Norwich and was the son of the late William Perry and Lucy E. (Brown) Elliott. He graduated from New Berlin High School in 1948 and attended Oberlin Conservatory of Music. As an accomplished pianist, he brought enjoyment to many over the years.
Tom was an Airman Second Class REGAF, United States Air Force; having served in Greenland, he received an honorable discharge in 1960. He also served as a Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputy early in his life. Tom enjoyed model airplanes, gardening and fine food and was a member of the Oneonta Musicians Union Local #443.
Tom is survived by James Bell (David Abbott) of Stillwater.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery in New Berlin.
