Cleo Gilbert


NORWICH – Cleo “Ann” Shepard Gilbert, 73, formerly of Norwich, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City.
Ann was born in Belmont, on Aug. 22, 1934, a daughter of the late Orville and Evelyn Shatraw Shepard.  For the past four years, she has made her home with her son and daughter-in-law in Chenango Forks.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Nancy) Bush of Chenango Forks; sisters, Stella (Leonard) Reihl, Shirley (Richard) Ingraham, and Barbara Jean Hill; brothers, Leslie Shepard, Ezra “Sonny” (Marilyn) Shepard, and Lloyd (Kathy) Shepard.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Carrie-Anne (James) Kirkland, Tobin R. (Lindsay) Bush, and Bobbi H. Bush; and her great-grandchildren, James Kirkland, Jr., Benjamin Kirkland, and Janai Kirkland; sisters-in-law, Pat Shepard and Shirley Shepard; and a brother-in-law, Dean DuBois; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Florence and Ed O’Neil, Marlene and Duane Kenyon, and Della and Julian MacClaury; a sister, Ella DuBois; brothers, Steve Shepard and Floyd Shepard; and a brother-in-law, Larry Hill.
Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. William Haynes officiating.  The burial has been scheduled for Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at the Wayside Rest Cemetery, Pharsalia.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
