Robert Davis Sr.


NORWICH – Robert J. Davis Sr. of Norwich passed away on July 6, 2008 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City. He was born on July 23, 1948 in Binghamton, the son Thomas and Dorothy (Engle) Davis Sr.
He is survived by his children, Maureen and Stephen Brown of South Plymouth, and Donald James Davis of Norwich; his mother, Dorothy J. Davis of Oxford; his companion, Elizabeth J. King of Norwich; his brothers, Frederick O. Davis of the Philippines, Harold J. Davis and Thomas O. Davis, Jr. of Oxford; his stepchildren, Kenneth King of Buffalo, Kelly DaCostFaro of Edmeston, and Kyle King of Owego; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Downey, Stefanie Downey, Matthew Grotevant, Cearah DaCostaFaro, Kylie King, Kianna King and Kamrin King.  He was predeceased by his son Robert J. Davis Jr. and his father Thomas O. Davis Sr.
Bob was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War.  He was a member of Christy Rock Post, VFW of Norwich.  He had worked at Bennett-Ireland for 13 years, then for Norwich Manufacturing and then Wal-Mart in Oneonta and Cobleskill. He had also worked most recently at The Eaton Center.  He enjoyed model cars, woodworking, flea markets and traveling to see friends in Pennsylvania.  He loved visiting railroad museums.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Thursday from 7-9 p.m.
