Elizabeth Moore


NEW BERLIN – Elizabeth Louise Moore better known to all as “Bette” or “Bette Lou,” passed away at the age of 74 on Sunday, July 6, 2008 in New Berlin.
She was born March 23, 1934 in Batavia and attended LeRoy High School in LeRoy.
Bette’s husband, Robert Moore, predeceased her on Aug. 1, 1985.
She is survived by her children: Richard (& Jenise) Wilcox of Newport News, Va.; Keith (& Maria) Wilcox of New Berlin; grandchildren: Renee Wilcox of Naples, Fla., Shayne, Todd & Joshua Wilcox of New Berlin; sisters: Mary Guenther of Port Charlotte, Fla., Janice Pierce of Daphne, Ala., Bonnie Wolf of Lancaster, Andrea Barber of Englewood, Fla.; and a brother, John “Jack” McAllister of St Alban, W. Va.
She is also survived by her beloved step children along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she was predeceased by an ex-husband, Richard Wilcox Sr., and her sons, David Wilcox and infant twin boys.
Better retired from Preferred Mutual Insurance Company of New Berlin. In her retirement years, she cared for many individuals with home health services. She made many friends during her years doing home party plans. She was a member of the Federation of Home Bureau and attended The First Baptist Church of South New Berlin, NY
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP of New Berlin, with Reverend Barry Davis of the First Baptist Church of South New Berlin officiating.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday prior to the memorial service.
The family would like to acknowledge all Bette’s special friends and thank them for being a part of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Hospice and Palliative Care of Chenango County, 21 Hayes Street, Norwich, NY 13815.
Arrangements are by the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin.
