Shirley Seaman


OXFORD – Shirley Elizabeth (Betty) Tucker) Seaman, 73, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Thursday, June 19, 2008.
She was born Dec. 4, 1934 in Oxford, to Edward and Elizabeth Tucker. She attended Oxford Academy & Central Schools, graduating in the Class of 1952. She married John (Bud) Seaman on Dec. 1, 1956. Shirley was employed as a secretary with Vernon Stratton Law office, Oxford, before joining John in his multiple posts with U.S. Air Force including the American Embassy in Rome, Italy. For the past 20 years, she was employed by Nower Opticians.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband John (Bud); a son Steven, sister Marian Hoke and sister Florence Noyes; sister-in-law Betty Ann Wales and a brother-in-law, Richard Seaman.
She is survived by a son John Seaman Jr. (Denise); son Eric (Anita); granddaughters Olivia & Maddie Seaman, Kettering, Ohio; a daughter Julie Davis, grandchildren Clint & Elizabeth Davis, Beavercreek, Ohio; a brother Edward (Helen) Tucker, Georgia; a cousin Diane Marauzak, Virginia; brothers & sisters-in-law include Robert & Frances Seaman, Guilford, Donna Seaman, Norwich, David & Sarah Seaman, Oxford, Donald & Delores Seaman, Cynthianna, Ky., Morris & Jane Eccleston, Greene, Wayne Wales, Clifton Park and Charles & Joan Seaman, Lake Grove, along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 23 at the Newcomber Funeral Home, Beavercreek, Ohio with Pastor Andrew Brewster officiating. Burial followed at Valley View Cemetery.
