JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Ronald Lawrence Mason, 64, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2008. He was a native of Earlville and lived in Jacksonville, Fla. since 1969. He was the son of Herbert and Lena (Tarbell) Mason.
He was employed by SSA/Cooper as a Stevedore/Superintendent for 15 years and had been on the waterfront for over 30 years. Ron enjoyed NASCAR racing and golfing.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Janet; sons, Greg Mason, and Austin Mason (Mary), all of Jacksonville; daughters, Kimberly Garske of Callahan, Fla., and Rebecca Parker of Jacksonville; brother Lee Mason (Elaine) of Earlville; sister, Charleen Carpenter (Arnold) of Smyrna; 4 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. His grandson, Derrick Garske, and granddaughter, Savannah Parker preceded him in death.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, May 26, in the chapel of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, 405 New Berlin Road, Jacksonville, Fla., with Tom Carver officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
