Erlo Gould


SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Erlo Jay Gould, 88, of South New Berlin, died May 30, 2008 at the Chase Memorial Nursing Home, New Berlin.
He was born June 20, 1919 in the Town of Butternuts, the son of Jay & Edith (Barber) Gould. He spent his childhood in the South New Berlin area and was a 1937 graduate of South New Berlin Central School.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jane Blood in August 1982. He is survived by his second wife Janette Jones, whom he married on June 30, 1984.
He is survived by a step son: Charles Frayer of Norwich; two step grandsons, Charles and wife LeAnne Frayer; Matthew and wife Rena Frayer; three step granddaughters, Alexandra, Abigail & Ashlee Frayer’ one foster daughter, Emma Davis; a foster grandson, Justin Davis; a foster granddaughter: Jennifer and husband Brian Ingraham; and a foster great grandson, Tyler Ingraham. He is also survived by a sister, Rena McCarthy of South New Berlin; two brothers, Charles Gould of New Berlin and Norman Gould and wife Joan of Winterville, Ga. and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother-in-law, Richard McCarthy.
Erlo was a farmer for many years. He was later employed by Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals/Procter & Gamble until his retirement in 1996.
He was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of South New Berlin.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, with the Reverend Allen Carpenter officiating.
Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery of South New Berlin.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dakin Funeral Home of New Berlin.
