Beverly Slentz


EARLVILLE – Beverly L. Slentz, 76, of Earlville, passed away Monday morning, May 26, 2008 at her home, following a long illness.
Born in Norwich in August of 1931, Beverly was the daughter of Willous E. and Marion (Bard) Cole. She graduated from South New Berlin Central School in 1948 and was married to her husband of 56 years, Kenneth W. Slentz, on Sept. 4 of that same year. For 37 years, Beverly worked in the sales department of The Norwich Pharmacal Company and its successor, Procter & Gamble, retiring in 1993. She was a woman who enjoyed sharing time with her family, and her grandchildren meant the world to her. She was a member of the Sherburne American Legion Auxiliary.
Beverly is survived by her children: Kathy Kreiner and husband Tom of South Plymouth, and Ken Slentz, Jr. and wife Linda of Earlville; her grandchildren: Jeffrey Kreiner and wife Melissa of Earlville, Kevin Kreiner of Norwich, Kimberly Kreiner of Norwich, and Julie Wysocki and husband Gary of Buffalo; and by her great grandchildren: Alyson, Morgan, and Chase Kreiner. She is also survived by her sisters, Autumn Law of Norwich and Gloria McNitt of Lockport; her brothers: Thomas Downey of Bushnell, Fla., Robert Downey of Norwich, and John Cole of Jacksonville, Fla.; and by nieces and nephews. Beverly was predeceased by her husband, Ken, on July 14, 2005; by her parents, her brother, Eugene Downey, and an infant sister, Audrey.
Memorial services for Beverly will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Thomas Tyler, Methodist clergy, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2.
