Mary Virginia Munyan

Mary Virginia Munyan was born January 1, 1939 in Seattle, Washington. She died December 28, 2007 in Bremerton, Washington.
She was the mother of six children: John, Rae Ann, Linda, Ken, Raymond Jr. and Ruth.
She spent most of her adult life working with the elderly as a nurse’s aide. Her last five years of work was spent as a hospice aide, bringing comfort to the dying and their families.
She was devoted to family, to her children, to her grandchildren, to her brothers and sister, to her nieces and nephews, her in-laws and to her extended family, many of whom were not legally related, just related by love.
Of all the memories and legacies she has left us with, the greatest legacy is her love. No one who met her ever missed her enormous capacity for giving love.

Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.
Love does not demand its own way.
Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged.
It is never glad about injustices but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance.
There are three things that will endure – faith, hope and love – and the greatest of these is love.
– I Corinthians 13:4-7, 13

Mom, over the years,
I watched
the wonderful ways
you made life special
for our family...
the moments of love
and laughter,
the traditions
and memories
we’ll carry with us
throughout our lives.
But most of all
I watched the way
you showed us
the true meaning of love
in everything you did.
We love and miss you Mom.
