Irene Welch


NEW HARTFORD – Irene Elizabeth Mayne Welch, age 90, of Monticello, Georgia, formerly of New Hartford, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at her residence.
Ms. Welch was born in Burlington Flats, Otsego County, New York to the late Herbert Mayne and Bertha Fitch Mayne. She lived in New Hartford for a number of years before moving to Monticello, Georgia six years ago. She was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church. Daughter, Bertha Andrews; brothers, Lowell Mayne and Kenneth Mayne; and sisters, Lila Tice and Norma Dougherty; all preceded her in death.
 She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Warren Camp of Monticello, Georgia and Clara Mae and Gus Van Brink of Canton, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Isaac and Mary Welch of Gainesville, Florida; grandchildren and spouses, Katrina and Mike Jones, Barrett and Stephanie Higgins, Kevin and Denise Higgins, Chris and Cristal Higgins, Tim and Kim Camp, Amy Beck, Erin and Jim Lynch, Greg Welch, Laura Welch, Adam Welch, Halicine and Rick DuBose, Analyn Van Brink, and Whitney Van Brink; great grandchildren, Benjamin Jones, Morgan Jones, Olivia Higgins, Victoria Higgins, Amelia Higgins, Celia Higgins, Nicole Higgins, Brandy Higgins, Mac Higgins, Paige Higgins, Addison Higgins, Ashley Camp, Lauren Camp, Jarred Camp, Gracyn Beck, Sara Beck, Braden Lynch, Benjamin Lynch, and Ethan Lynch; and several nieces and nephews.
 A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Friday at the Monticello Baptist Church, Monticello, Georgia. Rev. Joshua White and Rev. Phillip Dennis will officiate.  Interment will be held in the Burlington Flats Cemetery in Burlington Flats, New York at a later date. 
The family will receive friends at Jordan Funeral Home, 264 Hillsboro Street, Monticello, Georgia 31064 from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
The family suggests donations in lieu of flowers to the Monticello Baptist Church for the Guyana Orphange Fund (Save-R-Kids), 334 W. Greene Street, Monticello, Georgia 31064.
 Jordan Funeral Home of Monticello, Ga. is in charge of arrangements.
