NORWICH – Helen Briggs Edie, 93, formerly of Norwich and most recently of Stillwater, Okla., passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in the West Haven Nursing Home in Stillwater.
Born in Oct. of 1914 in Brookfield, Helen was the daughter of Grant and Lottie (Butler) Bartholomew. Over the years, she held various jobs, and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Stillwater. A very knowledgeable lady who loved to work the crossword puzzles, Helen always liked to keep up on current events.
Helen is survived by her children and their spouses: John and Carol Briggs of Ripley, and Diane and Dick Fish of Newark Valley; her grandchildren: John Anthony Briggs of Stillwater, Mark Briggs of Dallas, Texas, Cassie McLain of Pawnee, and Mitchell Briggs of New York; and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Bernice Murray of Norwich; her grand nephew, Tom Murray and his wife Margaret, and her grand niece, Cindy Warner and husband Randy, and their children Rory, Cale, and Samantha.
Memorial services for Helen were held on April 19 from the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Burial will be at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery of New Berlin.
