Stanley Savory Jr.


PITTSFIELD – Stanley F. Savory Jr., 47, of Pittsfield, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born in Greene on Oct.30, 1960 the son of Stanley F. Savory Sr. and Juanita M. (Bentley) Bauer. He graduated from Greene Central School, Class of 1978. He married Jackie Reed on Feb. 14, 1982 at the United Methodist Church in New Berlin.
Stan was a self-employed carpenter and was well known for lending a helping hand to his family, friends and even strangers. He was an avid hunter of both big and small game. He was a true lover of the outdoors and also enjoyed coin collecting. He and his wife had resided at their current home since 1986 and they had formerly lived in Guilford.
Stan is survived by his wife Jackie of Pittsfield, a daughter, Lynn M. Savory and fiancée Tim Macumber of South New Berlin, a granddaughter, Alexa J. Macumber of South New Berlin, two sisters Debra Stevens and husband Dave of Oxford and Shiela  (Micky) Walker and husband Lawrence of Greene, his very caring stepfather, Dan Bauer of Chenango Forks,  a stepmother  Charlotte Savory of Tennesee, three nephews and two nieces and his loyal companion, Trixie.
He was predeceased by his father, Stanley F. Savory Sr. in November of 2006 and his mother Juanita Bauer in April of 2002.
It was Stan’s request that no calling hours or services be held.
In lieu of flowers friends are asked to make donations to the Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820 or the A. O. Fox Cancer Care Team, 1 Foxcare Dr. Suite 310, Oneonta, NY 13820 in Stan’s memory.
