Robert Anderson


NORWICH – Robert A. Anderson, 81, a well known former area car dealer, passed away peacefully late Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Bob was born in Johnson City, on May 18, 1926.  He was the son of the late Alfred and Leona (Horton) Anderson. Bob served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS John Hood during World War II.
On Dec. 4, 1948, in Johnson City, Bob married Julia “Judy” Zayac Anderson, of Norwich, who survives. Bob is also survived by his children and their spouses, Cathleen Brown of San Antonio, Texas, Peter and Faye Anderson of Norwich, Lori and Jeff DeAngelo of Binghamton and Margaret Proskine of Norwich; ten grandchildren, Erica Klein, Scott Miller, Stefanie Jenkins, Sara and Lindsay Anderson, Katherine, Jacqueline and James Freeman, Rachel DeAngelo and Emily Proskine; four great grandchildren, Cade, Klein, Jalen and Jacob Jenkins, and a cousin, Betty Barnhart of Binghamton.
 A memorial service for Bob will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 14 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Norwich. Rev. Glenn Mahaffey, rector, will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing center, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
