Dr. Noble Valerio


SHERBURNE – Dr. Noble Anthony Valerio, age 89, formerly of Sherburne, died on March 23, 2008 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 89.  
Noble was born in Utica on June 23, 1918 to Marian and Vincent Valerio.  He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and while stationed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota he met his bride to be, Muriel Brekke.  They married in 1944 and later relocated to Davenport, Iowa where Noble studied to be a chiropractor at the Palmer School of Chiropractic. After graduation, Noble and Muriel returned to New York with their young son, Vance.  In 1953, the couple added daughter, Toni, to the family. 
Noble first established his chiropractic practice in Sherburne and later he started a second office in the neighboring town of Norwich. He served these communities and his patients with professional dedication and genuine warmth for over 40 years.  Noble and Muriel were also founding members of the Chenango Co. ARC and Community Workshop (CWS) in the mid-1960s. Subsequently, “Doc” served on the CWS Board for 40 years. Noble and Muriel moved to Omaha in 2003. 
Noble was preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents, two brothers, Dominic and Johnny, and his nephew, Robert Nuccio.  Survivors include: son, Vance (Marilyn); daughter, Toni; grandchildren, Erin (Dave); Marni (Dan); and Brekke; and five great-grandchildren who know him as their Poppy.  Also surviving him are his brother, Victor; sisters, Jean Gualtieri, Yolanda (Dominic) Nuccio, and Eleanor (Frank) Tucciarone; sisters-in-law, Marvel (Herman) Brende and Shirley Brekke and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.  Go in peace, dear father and friend—Arrivederci!   
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Sherburne.
