Rev. Roy Glave Sr.


NORWICH – Rev. Roy Glave, Sr., 84, of 13 Brown St., Norwich, passed away on March 20, 2008 at his home. 
He was born on May 23, 1923 in Mohawk, the son of the late Harold and Margaret (Watson) Glave. On July 14, 1944 he married Violet Beatty, who survives.
Besides his wife, Violet, he is survived by his children, Roy Glave, Jr. of Moyock, N.C., Karen and Michael Roberts of Cheektowaga, William Glave of Rochester, Edith and Rev. Norman Holtz, of Oxford and Violet Ludolph of Poughkeepsie; his brother, Tony Inglis of Wilson, N.C. and nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Rev. Glave was a graduate of Philadelphia College of the Bible, Roberts Wesleyan College and Geneseo State College, where he received his Masters Degree.  He served as a pastor at many churches in New York and New England for 55 years. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corp during World War II.  He moved to Norwich three years ago and was a volunteer bereavement counselor for Hospice of Chenango County.  He and his wife volunteered for several years at the Genesee Country Village and Museum in Mumford.
 A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at the Faith Bible Church, Butler Street, Oxford, with Rev. Norman Holtz and Rev. Robert Greene officiating.  Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford, at the convenience of the family.
 Friends may call at Faith Bible Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Bible Church, Oxford for Hospice of Chenango County, Norwich.
 Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford.
