NORWICH – Blanche Louise Shadel, 85, passed away Saturday morning, March 15, 2008 at the Valley View Manor Nursing Home, Norwich.
She was born Feb. 12, 1923 in North Norwich, the daughter of Rex and Ivadelle Coy Franklin. Blanche attended Preston Elementary School and Norwich High School. She was predeceased by her husband George on Nov. 23, 1976. Retiring in 1988, Blanche had worked for Simmonds Precision for 11 years preparing products for platers.
Blanche is survived by her companion of many years Richard Cummings, Norwich; a daughter and son-in-law Beverly Ann and David Daniels, South Carolina; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was predeceased by her sister, Beulah Franklin on March 11, 2008.
Funeral services for Blanche will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, Norwich, with the Rev. Romeyn Kipp, pastor of the Holmesville Baptist Church, officiating. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery Norwich.
