OXFORD – Joseph Groff Brillinger, Sr., 93, of New York City passed away Friday morning, July 21, 2006 in the New York State Veterans’ Home of Oxford, where he resided for the past year.
Born on April 18, 1913 in York, Pa., Joe was a 1935 graduate of Duke University and served in the United States Army during World War II.  He enjoyed jazz music, crossword puzzles, financial investments, and walking the streets of New York City.
Joe is survived by his sons: Joseph, Jr. and his wife Kathleen of South New Berlin, and Jeffrey of New York City.  He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Amy and her husband Kevin Pole, Lindsay Brillinger, and David Brillinger.
There will be no formal services, and an internment will be in the Warn Ten Broeck Cemetery of Oxford, at the convenience of the family.
