Norman Hadlock


SMYRNA – Norman “Norm” Charles Hadlock, 72, of Smyrna, went to be with the Lord peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at his home.
Norm was born Dec. 6, 1935 in Norwich, a son of Glenn Leeland and Sara Emma (White) Hadlock and received his education in local schools. Norm grew up on the family farm in Springvale. In 1962 Norm married Lois Bigford from Earlville who passed away in the spring of 1987. In 1957, Norm hauled milk for C & E Trucking and Earl T. Wadhams. In 1982, he hauled freight for various trucking companies.  In 1996, Norm drove school bus for New Berlin Central School until 1998. He then drove bus for the Sherburne-Earlville Central School System until he retired from driving in 2006.
Norm is survived by his five children: Scott Hadlock and his wife Paula of Smyrna and their children Nathan and Nelson; Steven Hadlock and his wife Sandra of Munnsville and their children Andrew, Douglas and Joshua; Sue Hadlock and Harold Dereaway of Munnsville and their children Shania and Brianna; Shayne Hadlock and his wife Holli of Hubbardsville and their children Miranda and Marissa; Stacy (Hadlock) Law and her husband Kip of Sherburne and their children Sierra, Wayne and Emma; and  many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by Beverly Collins whom he married in 1982, step-daughters Becky Caswell and Heather Hathaway. Norm was predeceased by two brothers Neil and Kenneth Hadlock; a sister Rachael Hadlock as well as two infant brothers Richard and David and an infant sister Sharon. He was also predeceased by a loving step daughter Tina Caswell Genung in July 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home 3 Preston St.  Earlville. Interment will be held in the spring in the South Brookfield cemetery. Friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
