Richard Warshaw


NORWICH – Richard Warshaw, 73, of Norwich and formerly of the New Jersey area, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Richard was born in June of 1934 in Manhattan the son of Jack and Lydia Cooper Warshaw. He was a graduate of Clifton High School and furthered his education by attending Williams College where he graduated with honors. He was also a law student at Harvard University at the time of his father’s death. Richard had formerly worked in the family business, Garfield Express, founded by his grandfather Louis Cooper. Richard and his twin brother Donald have owned property in upstate New York since the early 1970s. They bought their home in Norwich in the mid 1980s and after their retirement moved to Norwich permanently in the mid 1990s.
Richard is survived by his first cousin Harris “Sandy” Cooper of Costa Rica and several friends in the Norwich area.
He was predeceased by his parents and his twin brother Donald in 2005.
Funeral services for Richard will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. Rabbi Dawn Rose will officiate. Interment will be on Tuesday, Jan. 22 in the Cedar Park Cemetery in Emerson, N.J.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 3 p.m.
