SHERBURNE – Irene G. (Clark) Franklin, 82, of Sherburne Meadows Apts., passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 at her home.
Born Nov. 18, 1923 in Smyrna, she was one of nine children of John and Johanne Jorgenson Swantenson, and received her education in local schools. She married Reginald Clark who predeceased her in 1956. In January 1960, Irene married Albert Franklin in Norwich. He predeceased her in 1993. A lifelong Sherburne area resident, Mrs. Franklin had worked for Norwich Pharmaceuticals until her retirement in 1985.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Carolyn Clark of Sherburne, Kenneth and Lisa Clark of South Plymouth; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Charles Zahalka of High Springs, Fla., Lorraine and Roland Palmer of Sherburne, Valarie and Matthew Sullivan of Gatesville, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Burial will be in the Willcox Cemetery, Smyrna.
