SHERBURNE – George Lliteras, 56, of Knapp Street, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 at the Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
He was born Nov. 21, 1951 in New York City, a son of Hernino Betancourt and Irma Lliteras.
George was a man of few words; however, he always seemed to say a lot. His love for music and entertainment was great. He was a social man who enjoyed having his friends and roommates around him. George attended mass at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Norwich. He seemed to enjoy the humor in life and was a positive man who would brighten your day and warm your heart. Throughout his life, George developed many friendships and supports while living at Jefferson Avenue at the ARC Otsego and the Springbrook Sherburne IRA.
George is survived by his closest friends, John, Theresa, Ernie, Dina, Harold, Aunt Lucy and all the staff at Springbrook who cherished him as family.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne. Interment will be held in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
