NORWICH – Joan E. Brower, 64, of Norwich, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at her home.
The daughter of Gerald and Irene VanNatta, Joan was born in Brooklyn in March of 1943. She grew up on Long Island in the Islip area, and had lived in Oneonta and Roxbury before coming to Norwich approximately 20 years ago. Joan liked to watch game shows on the television, listen to Christian music, and crochet. She looked forward each night to a game of cards with her husband.
Joan is survived by her husband, Arthur Brower of Norwich; her children: Louie B. Wilchynski and companion Christina Albertina of Norwich, Anthony Wilchynski and wife Lisa of Norwich, James Brower of Norwich, and Chester Brower and wife Candie of Sherburne; and her mother, Irene VanNatta of Roxbury. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Skylar, Tucker, and Danika Wilchynski, Brandon and Noah Brower, Christopher, Gloria, Vincent, and Shawn Brower, and Nicole and Lance Beckwith; her sister, Gloria Laureanti and husband Alfred of Roxbury; her brother, Gerald VanNatta and wife Gail of Kingston, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Joan will be held on Sunday, December 30, at 1 p.m. from the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Englehardt, Pastor of the Catskill Mountain Christian Center in Margaretville, will officiate. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery will be in the spring. Friends are invited to call at the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home on Sunday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
