June Gray


NORWICH – June Gray, 84, life long Norwich resident, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 in the Gilmour Health Care Facility.
The daughter of James and Blanche Walley Gray, June was born in March of 1923 in the family home on Sheldon St. in Norwich where made her home until 1984. She attended the Norwich schools and graduated with the class of 1941. June furthered her education by attending Ridley-Lowell Business Institute in Binghamton, from which she graduated. Following her graduation she was employed by Craine Silo and eventually went to work for Victory Markets, where she worked as an executive secretary for 29 years.
June had attended the Norwich Assembly of God Church for all of her life and became a member in January of 1965. A very active member within the church, June had worked with the youth group, taught Sunday school and was the current church board secretary.
June is survived by her niece Susan Bastianelli of Las Vegas, her nephew Robert Gray and wife Dianne of Queens Creek, Ariz., and her great nephews Michael Bastianelli and his wife Michelle, Scott Bastianelli and Brandon Grayand his fiancee Jolie Laker of Chandler, Ariz. June is also survived by her church family from the Norwich Assembly of God Church and her many friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Walley Gray.
Funeral services for June will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Norwich Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Dennis McKenna, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Norwich Assembly of God Church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m.
