SHERBURNE – Rosella S. Petersen, 84, of East State Street, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2007 at her home.
She was born July 12, 1923 in the Town of Butternuts, a daughter in Clayton W. and Marjorie Sliter Stevens, and was a graduate of Norwich High School. On July 12, 1945, Rosella was united in marriage to Aksel M. Petersen in Norwich. Mrs. Petersen was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Aksel; her children, Alette and Bill Davidson of Sherburne; Sue and Bob Marano of Forest, Va.; Lloyd Petersen of Randolph, Vermont; Martha Petersen of Murfreesboro,Tenn.; Brenda and Greg Roberson of Erin; Greta and Charles Leachman of Meridian, ID; and Jeffrey Petersen of South Otselic; a sister, Marian Hall of Oneonta; two sisters-in-law, Harriet Stevens and Gladys Thomsen, both of South New Berlin; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great grandchildren, 6 step-great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Keith Stevens, and a brother-in-law, Clarence Thomsen.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from St. Malachy’s Church, Sherburne.
Interment will be private.
There will be no calling hours.
