NORWICH – Emilia Quijano, 86, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2007 in the Gilmour Health Care Center in Norwich.
Born in Puerto Rico in July of 1921, Emilia was the daughter of Padlo and Julia (Rivera) Quijano. She spent most of her adult life in Union City, N.J., where she worked as a seamstress in several factories. In 2000, she moved to the Norwich area to be closer to her daughter.
Emilia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Elizabeth and Timothy R. Melius Sr. of South New Berlin; and by her grandchildren: Felicia E. Melius of Endicott, Timothy R. Melius Jr. of Okinawa, Japan; and Jasmine C. Melius of South New Berlin. She was predeceased by her great grandson, George Melius Sand, and by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for Emilia will be held at the convenience of her family.
