Carolyn Mckissick

BEAVER MEADOW – Carolyn R. McKissick, 67, of Beaver Meadow, passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, Dec. 5, 2007 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Martin and Kathryn (Pickett) Adams, Carolyn was born in December of 1939 in Schenectady, but grew up in Schoharie where she attended and graduated from the local schools. She lived for a time in Cobleskill and later in Duanesburg, where she joined the New York State Troopers, working with them for over 18 years. In 1985, Carolyn moved to the Norwich area and decided to further her education. While working at Camp Georgetown as a dispatcher, she took classes in the Norwich branch of SUNY Morrisville and graduated with an associate’s degree in paralegal studies. In the late 1980s she retired from Camp Georgetown and continued to pursue her love of agriculture and animals. She raised a variety of dogs, cats, and birds, and enjoyed showing her cows at the Chenango County Fair. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau. A long-time member of the Beaver Meadow Christian Church, Carolyn had a great love for the Lord.
On Sept. 13, 1980, Carolyn married William P. McKissick. She is survived by her husband, William, of Beaver Meadow; her children and their spouses: Tammy and Michael Briner of California, Kim Hill and fiancé Clarence Wright of Solon, Martin and Josie Eberhardt of Norfolk, Va., William Jr. and Cathy Jo McKissick of Castleton, Gertrude and Larry Young of Canastota, and Abigail Cortez of Beaver Meadow; by 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and by her foster children, Delores, Connie, Diane, Angie, and Tiffany.
