NORWICH – Jennie B. Arria, 85, formerly of Waite Street, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born in Norwich on June 27, 1922, Jennie was the daughter of John and Rose C. (Basile) Zieno.  She worked for a short time in the Norwich School System and was a homemaker and eventual caregiver for her mother for many years.
Jennie was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church and of the Rosary Society of the Church.
On June 20, 1945 in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Jennie married Sancto J. “Sam” Arria who passed away on March 13, 1991.  She is survived by her children and their spouses, Sandra and Willie Thompson of Lancaster, Pa., Joseph and Mariane Arria of Holley and John and Laurie Arria of Canastota; four grandchildren, Michael Arria and his fiancé, Jennifer, Matthew Arria and his wife, Davinder, Mark Arria and his wife, Courtney and Nathan Arria as well as great grandchildren, Blake, Zachary and Jacob Arria.
A Mass of Resurrection for Jennie will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Bartholomew’s Church.  Friends are invited to call at St. Bartholomew’s on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.  Members of the St. Bartholomew’s Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 9:30. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
