NORWICH — The Norwich Purple Tornado boys’ soccer team honored its seniors on Friday night against Oneonta. Congratulations to David Lawson, Andrew Mirabito, Aiden Morris, Pierce Sherman, Patrick Mulwane, Collin Reid, Wyeth Stafford, and Sharon Thinagaran. Norwich celebrated its seniors with a 1-0 shutout victory in the final minutes of regulation.

Oneonta had early control throughout the contest, passing the ball well and putting some hard shots on goal, where Norwich goalkeeper Pierce Sherman had to work hard in net. He made close to 20 saves in net with his team able to get the golden goal.

James Sprague had a shot deflected and it went right to Wyeth Stafford’s foot, where the senior had a shining moment with a goal on senior night, which happened to be the game-winner as well.

Norwich has one final game of the season against Union-Endicott on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
