OWEGO — On Friday night, the Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton/Harpursville and Norwich cross country teams attended the Owego Dash in the Dark meet held at Owego High School. The meet is always a favorite among the local teams with the nightly fun atmosphere.

BGAH:

Boys:

The Bears boys came in sixth place in the meet with Vestal leading the boys race and over 30 teams in attendance.

Owen Degan led BGAH with a top 10 finish, coming in sixth place with a time of 15:59.40. Sean Fowler ran to a 38th place finish with a time of 17:44.90.

Ethan Beardslee came in 49th with a time of 18:02.60 with teammate Rowan Beasinger running to a 70th place finish with a time of 18:35.90. Jackari Garipoli came in 96th place with a time of 19:13.20.

Mason Lans and My’Kel George followed one another in 139th and 140th place respectively out of over 200 male runners at the event.

Girls:

The BGAH girls finished 10th out of a total of 19 complete female teams with 257 points. Lelaenia Baldwin led the girls with a 38th place finish with a time of 21:41.20.

Macey LaFever ran to a 62nd place finish with a time of 23:16.70 as Elzie John came in 66th with a time of 23:20.80.

Ruth Wilson finished 82nd with a time of 24:18 while Gabby Gross came in 92nd with a time of 24:54.90 and Myahlee Palmer had a 98th place finish with a time of 25:11.50. Marissa Mayo ran to a 124th place finish with a time of 26:55.90.

NHS:

The Norwich Purple Tornado boys’ cross country team took 26th place at the meet with 731 points, ahead of five other complete teams. Nic Sutton led the Norwich boys with a 31st place finish with a time of 17:21.20 while the rest of his teammates placed in the upper 100s with the full team constantly improving.

Richard Hatton came in 165th with a time of 21:25.50 as teammate Maddox Wolford followed a few spots behind in 169th with a time of 21:45.90. Ethan Tang and Adrien Browne came within each other in 210th and 211st.

Malea Sutton finished 108th for the girls with a time of 26:03.20.
