OXFORD — The Oxford Blackhawks and Unadilla Valley Storm volleyball teams faced off on Thursday night at Oxford High School. Both teams played intensely with the match going to five sets. UV took the first two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-19 before Oxford took the remainder 25-21, 25-14, and the last set with a score of 15-4.

With the win, Oxford improved to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the MAC.

Gabby Palmer led the Blackhawks with 22 service points, 18 digs, and seven aces while Alexa Barrows had 21 assists, 15 service points, six aces, and six digs.

Bridgette Foster added 11 assists, a team-high of 10 kills, nine service points, and four aces.

Reagan Long picked up five digs, four kills, and two aces as Miley Depew added five kills and three digs and Keira Somers with four kills and three assists.

UV’s Jade Cook finished with 13 assists, two aces, and a dig while Shyla Roberts had seven kills, six digs, five aces, and two blocks on the night. Logan Cook also picked up seven kills, along with two blocks and an ace. Piper Hine added six aces, three digs, a kill, and a block as Madison Pierce had three aces and three digs and MaKenzie Knuth with three digs.

Oxford heads to Delhi on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. while UV heads to a tournament in Johnson City on Saturday.
