SHERBURNE— It was a close match between UV/GMU and Unatego/Franklin on Friday, where the match was decided by a single stroke. Unatego/Franklin snuck by UV/GMU 228-229 in both team’s eighth match of the season.

UV/GMU’s Carter Simonds led all golfers with a 38 on the par 35 while Urijah Drake and Evan Hill both shot 46s. Zack Welch added a 49 and Blake Lawrence shot a 50. Declan Potter finished as the team’s sixth golfer.

UV/GMU (0-8) heads to Sidney this afternoon at 4 p.m. to start a four-match road trip.
